Real Madrid manager, Zinedine Zidane, has admitted his side had to “suffer” in their Champions League quarter-final second leg against Liverpool.
The LaLiga giants had won the first leg 3-1 on their own turf.
However, on Wednesday, they came up against a desperate Liverpool side at Anfield and survived their frenzied start to draw 0-0 and qualify.
Zidane has now praised his players for sticking together, despite the injuries and tough schedule.
He said: “We knew we had to suffer tonight, but we handled it well and played a good game.
“We should be very proud of what we’ve done tonight. We’re in it together, with all the injuries and tough schedule. We haven’t won anything yet, but we’re alive in both competitions.
“We finished much better physically than the other day against Barcelona. Tremendous effort from the entire team, we’re very happy.”
