The Federal Government has officially decided to proceed with the resumption of schools nationwide on 18 January 2021.
Growing pressure exerted by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and other stakeholders, the school should remain closed in the midst of the second wave of the pandemic.
This was confirmed in a circular on Thursday, following due consultation between the Ministry of Education and other stakeholders in the education sector.
On Monday, the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, during the press briefing of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 on Monday said the January 18 resumption date was not sacrosanct.
He had given an indication that the date would be reviewed without giving further details.
