On Friday, Sadiya Umar Farouq, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, released an update on the N-Power program as Batch C will soon begin.

She spoke at an event to mark the first anniversary of the ministry in Abuja.

Farouq has announced that, as at the last count, 109, 823 Batch A and B beneficiaries have set up businesses in their communities.

“We effectively exited the 500,000 Batch A and B N-Power beneficiaries and closed the registration for Batch C with a total of 5,042,001 registrations issued.”

The Minister stated that the N-Power applicants to be selected would be only eligible.

“When we proceed to the selection stage, the Ministry must ensure due diligence to ensure that only properly eligible applicants are admitted,” Farouq said.

She confirmed that work is underway to ensure the creation of the National Disability Commission and the opening of the National Senior Citizens Centre.
