The Red Devils entered the semi-finals with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over FC Copenhagen last time out, needing an extra-time Bruno Fernandes penalty.
However, their challenge in the final four is only getting harder as they take on the hand of Seville, which has lifted this trophy no less than five times in the last decade.
Julen Lopetegui’s side dominated Wolves in their quarter-final triumph, outshooting the Premier League side 18-6 and taking a 76% share of possession. That said, it took an 88th-minute strike from Lucas Ocampos to seal the win for Los Nervionenses.

Sevilla & Man Utd’s previous line-ups:
- Sevilla (vs Wolves): Bounou; Navas, Kounde, Carlos, Reguilon; Banega, Fernando, Jordan; Suso, En-Nesyri, Ocampos.
- Man Utd (vs FC Copenhagen): Romero; Wan-Bissaka, Bailly, Maguire, Williams; Pogba, Fred; Greenwood, Fernandes, Rashford; Martial
Nemanja Gudelj remains Sevilla’s only doubt having missed the quarter-final victory over Wolves, so Lopetegui could name an unchanged XI against United.
Luke Shaw, Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe all remain sidelined for the Red Devils while Marcus Rashford will need assessing after hurting his groin late on against Copenhagen.
Players to watch:
Sevilla: At 32, this feels like something of a swansong at the top for Ever Banega but that doesn’t mean his influence on Sevilla’s fortunes is waning. Quite the opposite, in fact, with the Argentine playmaker providing back-to-back assists in wins over Roma and Wolves to reach this round.
With Man Utd quite short on mobility in midfield, Banega should find plenty of space in which to yield his ball-playing wizardry, and the Red Devils will need to be on high-alert against his deliveries into the box.
Man Utd: It may have been a Bruno Fernandes penalty which sent United through to the semi-finals, but it was Mason Greenwood who arguably provided the biggest threat on the night, hitting the post and having a goal ruled out by VAR for offside.
The English teenager has netted five times already in this season’s competition (the joint-second highest amount of any player so far) and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be looking to his wonderkid to unlock the opposition once again.
