Dr Tafida Abubakar Ila II, the emir of Rano, is dead. The monarch died on Saturday at Nasarawa Specialist Hospital, according to Daily Trust.
Tafida Abubakar reportedly died at 4:45pm after a short illness, but it is unclear whether or not the disease of the emir is linked to COVID-19.
Reacting to the death, Kabiru Alhassan Rurum, a former speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, said confirmed that Friday the late emir was admitted to hospital.
According to Islamic rites, Alhassan added the monarch will be buried on Saturday.
